We suggest you not limit your visit to the museums, however interesting they may be, but blend in with the local population, in the streets, parks, cafes and traditional market place. Also, don’t miss the night walk along the boulevard. Tirana enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate with generally mild winters and hot, sunny summers, often interspersed with rain.
-Mosque of Et’hem Bey is undoubtedly the most beautiful in the country, richly decorated with paintings depicting idyllic landscape and extremely rare motifs of Islamic art, influenced from the Bektashism Sufi Order.
-National Art Gallery. With a century in the art of painting, this institution offers a good overview of the country’s history, but also a breath of fresh air thanks to temporary exhibitions of contemporary art.
-Former “BIIoku”, a neighborhood previously reserved for the nomenclature, still preserved by the famous “Pyramid” of Enver Hoxha, has become since 1991 the trendiest place in the capital with bars, restaurants and night clubs.
-Skanderbeg Square. Around the famous Skënderbej Square, dedicated to the great national hero, where you can visit mosques, cathedrals, museums…
-National Historical Museum. It contains the most beautiful antiquities of the country.
